Re: 79 Kawasaki KZ650 - Engine running better with each adjustment Someone on facebook just posted this Dynojet vs Mikuni Conversion Chart. I bought a Stage 3 Dynojet kit awhile back but never used it because it starts at 118 main. My Mikuni Jets are 112.5. I didn't realized they translated...

Another build thread? Why the fuck not! KZ650 daily driver build.

Just finished my KZ650 (700cc bore) and Andrews #20 Cams. I put 86 miles on it so far since the rebuild and I am OBSESSED! So much power. It's a nasty sleeper. I'll be tuned in to see what you do. Good luck!

79 Kawasaki KZ650 - Engine running better with each adjustment Took her out again these last few evenings. Man does this bike go. The gearing on the sprockets is perfect. 17/42 I believe. Without going over 4500-5k rpm before break in I was able to jump on the highway for a little and she...

Re: 79 Kawasaki KZ650 - Engine running better with each adjustment Took the bike out for it's first major ride. 50 miles from my parents garage to my shared garage in Philadelphia. 65 degree day. Ran beautifully. Idle dropped a little in slow moving stop and go city traffic but no major...

    CJ360 (CB360) Rebuild, electric starter, 6 speed

I don't see anything unusual but it looks like an o-ring or seal fits into the lip of that hole. You'll want to make sure you replace all the O-rings and seals throughout the engine pieces to avoid leaks and ensure good oil pressure. Also the case pieces have guide pins. Don't loose them as...

78 KZ's Bike - repost from the old forum (locO)

That stainless steel looks clean! As far as the sound, seems a little tame. Don't you think? Maybe it's because I have a 700cc kit and cams but I expected it to sound more throaty. How would you compare it to the sound of your Kerker?

    CJ360 (CB360) Rebuild, electric starter, 6 speed

Just stumbled upon your build. Nice work so far. Loving the pictures. I used Hondabond on my KZ650 engine rebuild, same as Threebond so ive been told. Applied a thin coat with 1-2mm of squish when the cases were mergered. Held up nicely, no engine leaks. You should be good. ;)

    LED turn signal problem

Not familiar with the Sparck flasher relay but I converted my KZ650 to LED signals using this relay. http://www.cwswiring.com/Shop.html If the lights don't flash, switch the wires around going in and out of the relay. That's what I had to do and it fixed the problem.

Used the Colortune. Neat little tool but hard to see on a bright day. Here is what I've learned. If your pilots jets are correct then you won't see too much variation in the flame (Bunson Blue = optimal), What you will notice is the spark having a more consistent beat/rhythm when dialing...

Re: 79 Kawasaki KZ650 - Engine running better with each adjustment Re-synced carbs this last week. My logic was off but i assumed since the carbs were synced when i pulled them off the bike to rebuild that they would be in sync when i put them back on. I was wrong. Carb syncing 4 cylinders...

Re: 79 Kawasaki KZ650 - Post-Engine Start (Video) - Pingel Petcock Replacement Interesting... I didn't think that the stock VM24s were that bad. Doesn't seem like everyone has problems with them.

If you do run turn signals fitting LEDs is fairly easy. The only difficult part is adapting them to fit the the large openings of the existing fork ears and headlight bucket. Same for rear. This is what I did. Buy K&S Turn Signal Stems for KZ(http://a.co/4Zr9BhJ. Cut the tips off, then...

    An odd one. 82 kz750r1.

Re: An odd one. 82 kz750r1. Brat cafe. The ugly part about removing that bolt is that it moves with the inner shaft piece holding the outer tube and inner tube together. I've only been able to remove them using two methods. I'd probably remove using the first method vs the second. [list...

    Vin Sticker Reproduction

I photoshopped up a template of my vin sticker that I pulled off before powder coating. Other than asking FedEx Kinkos is there a specialty place that prints non-fade adhesive laminated stickers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My first idea is to goto FedEx Kinkos to see if they can print this on a non fade laminate adhesive. Perhaps one knows a better place to get this printed? Private msg me if you want...

79 Kawasaki KZ650 - Post-Engine Start (Video) - Pingel Petcock Replacement Installed the Pingel Petcock. Not quite plug and play. Adapter plate holes were a little off. Had to modify. Also have to slightly open up fuel tap slot on tank. After that everything worked fine. The tap itself is...
