On the ignition switch... I had similar issued trying to find a decent location. I ended up putting it on the right side frame rail, just above the rubber shaft boot. $2 bracket bent 90° and mounted on one of the tabs on the frame. It works ok...I dont have a good picture of it but can put...

Can anyone identify this headlight bucket? There are no identification markings anywhere. It was an Ebay find, sans bezel. The diameter of the bucket (as measured from the inner lip where the bezel would mount) is 150mm (15cm, or 5.9 inches). Many thanks in advance! -Matt

I can relate to the clumpy ignition and gauge mounts on the R65. I ended up installing an Acewell and in the process relocated the ignition to the right side frame rail, next to where the battery would go. As far as the battery, I have had great luck with a 12 cell...

Thanks! Those particular shocks were on there when I acquired the bike, but I dont think the shocks are that much different over stock. I did increase the preload somewhat because I tote my wife around (she's a buck twenty and I'm a whopping 220lbs), so perhaps when the bike is unloaded it...

I am just now looking into this for a CM400 buildup of my own. I haven't seen any CM400's with a monoshock before so I'm glad it's being discussed here, too. With the right geometry and spring rates, I'm sure it would be find. Gotta run the numbers tho....

I haven't done anything with crankcase vent (I saw on another build where it emptied into a small aluminum catch box, might go that route). As far as the carbs, the previous owner had the cone filters on it and the airbox. No idea if the the carbs were re-jetted. Guess I should take a look at...
