    '99 SV650 track rebuild

That looks light to me. I machined my flywheel most I dared. Never done it before but didn't do the starter clutch and together they were 1872g which I was happy with...

    GPX600R Progress

Quick photo update. gpz550 exhaust on gpx600r Required cutting down the flanges on the pipes to use the standard keepers and collars. Also needed the sump fins shortened slightly. General feedback is welcome

Fitting a exhaust from another model.

I am hoping that is all I need to do. I won't really know till I modify the mounting flange and once torqued up then I will really know.

Fitting a exhaust from another model.

I sat the muffler on just to see the effect before removing the system.

Fitting a exhaust from another model.

Checking what's needed to fit a 4-1 gpz550h exhaust on a gpx600. I will need weld on new flange collars on the pipes to suit and they are hitting the sump, but won't know how bad till the flange is sorted. I think I'm on a win for my cafe racer.

Slow going but the rear subframe is tacked together and starting to look better to me.

Plan is to run the narrower cb600 radiator above the exhaust instead of in front. This will give more guard clearance with the 17 inch wheel provided replacing the standard 16 inch I think it also looks better when combined with a aftermarket 4-1 exhaust (hoping to use a gpz550h exhaust.

Slow going but the rear subframe is tacked together and starting to look better to me.

The bike is a 1989 Kawasaki GPX600R 84hp version, But that's yet to be tested, however will be fast enough for me.

    Trying some design ideas

Changing the seat appearance. I want to use the seat provided but it was eating at me as looking a little long. So I decided to give the underside a kick up and the plan is the angle will match the new exhaust muffler angle. The seat pan is fiberglass so I sectioned it and manipulated it with a...

    Trying some design ideas

After removing the dodgy H member under the tank the tank now sits down a bit closer to the engine. I think it looks better, it will need a different petcock and it allows the tank to be moved back to clear the triple on full lock. Sorry about the picture it was getting dark,

    Trying some design ideas

1-1 1/2 inches is exactly what I was thinking. Also local road rules say no than 1/3 of original travel. good advice thanks,

    Trying some design ideas

Just playing with the design. No photo shop for this old guy. I pushed the fork tubes 3 inches (76mm) but I think 1 1/2 inches (38mm) will work best for me. Just trying to visualize. Once I fix the fuel tank mounts, the seat and tank can go 3/4in lower and I may lower the rear about 3/4 inch...

Sorting out a old Gpx600R Cafe Racer

I need to undo some butchery on the path to get the gpx cafe racer road worthy again. The frame tank mounts need a redo currently made of bits of tube with dowels welded to them to make the tank snug. Down side they only just hold the tank, move the tank back only a few mm and it's off. And the...

Trying to raise a Kawasaki GPX600R cafe racer from the abyss.

Using the old seat frame that fitted the seat as a start but it had random cuts I have welded up. The front mounts on the frame it had used have been removed so I made a bracket to share the tank mount. As always feed back is welcome.

Trying to raise a Kawasaki GPX600R cafe racer from the abyss.

Just bought a project that several have attempted before each doing some redesign and disassembly. It has a couple of boxes of parts, the wiring has been stripped and some random wires hanging loosely. The plan by the last owner was to convert the wiring to a BUS system branded as motogadget; It...

    '99 SV650 track rebuild

Going very well keep up the good work. Some days I like the contrast of the silver frame ten other day I think painting it is the go.

Post a pic of your latest purchase

My cafe racer project is in bits again and I have been suffering riding withdrawals so I went looking for a cheap bike I could ride without working on it. If I got a work that needed work I may as well be working on my project. This is what I got, a Kymco Venox 250 done only 2000km,basically a...

My DIY Cafe Racer tank is getting there at last.

I don't think it will touch with just a little care fitting and removing the seat. The seat comes off for any access to electrics or any time the tank is lifted.

My DIY Cafe Racer tank is getting there at last.

Still going, I have been out of shield gas for a while and rather than wait another couple of weeks to save up. I decided to use the gasless mig I bought cheap a while ago. To give the petcock and sender something flat to seal with, I made 2 plates of 5mm plates. I decided not to put holes it...
