Bought a bar end (not the mirror, just the end) for 10 bucks and just swapped out that hardware, worked like a gem! Thanks everybody for the input!

Wow I feel like an idiot for not realizing this! Will definitely do this in the meantime but still look for new hardware (don't like the 'open' look at the end of my grip).

I installed one mirror correctly, but the other one didn't go so well and now the hardware is irreparably damaged. Does anybody know if hardware stores carry the 'spreaders' provided with mirrors when purchased? I would rather not have to buy another set just to replace the hardware, any...

This bike is about the best inspiration I've found for my new r80 - do you have a build thread anywhere? If not, would you mind sharing info on the seat,tires, rear blinkers/brake light unit? I assume the rear mudguard is just one you bought and figured a way to mount?

Would this work on plastic as well or is it too strong thus causing damage?
