"Do the Ton" rear sets - Lets do them cheap - No takers???

So does that mean that everyone jumped ship on this? I'm willing to pick up the machine work on my Fadal CNC, but I would have to get some additional tooling for the knurling and chamfer.

xs - six fitty: how to devalue a bike: lesson one

Thanks for the link to the Posh site! Looks like the price for theirs is just a little less than the Zero switches ($58 usd) at 5,000 yen each, but then you have to consider the shipping costs. They are smaller though, 1.6 in long (41mm) compared to 2 in long (51mm), and you have a choice of...

xs - six fitty: how to devalue a bike: lesson one

Yes on the switches. I was going to make myself a pair of switches almost exactly like that out of aluminum, but if I can save some time and money (Al stock isn't remarkably cheap these days, and the Zero Engineering guys are offering similar switches for $50 each) then I'll roll with these...

    XS650 Cafe Custom Project

Agreed, it's all about the minimalist look. I'm getting a set of Daytona indicators from Vanem. A little update: http://triplesee.typepad.com/justin/2009/04/some-moderate-progress.html

    Seat padding

Something to consider with materials like couch foam or carpet padding is moisture. One day the bike is going to be out in the rain...it's just going to happen despite one's best planning. Or maybe you live in a humid climate. Either way soft, porous materials like these will retain water...

    Holy Shit I won!!!

True, though I'd think it all comes down to preference...I, for one, prefer "tight" handling. Though I'm not one to comment specifically on how she performs in that department, girls in her line of work generally ride a little loose...

    XS650 Cafe Custom Project

I'm looking for something along the lines of these bikes: Hopefully I can somewhat approximate the Deus level of craftsmanship as well. A guy can dream, right? I've done a fair bit of fiberglass and foam-molding work, so the seat shouldn't be too difficult, and now that I've finished my...

    XS650 Cafe Custom Project

I'm finally making some headway into my project and actually doing some documenting about it at my seldom-used blog page: http://triplesee.typepad.com/justin/2009/03/what-has-been-and-what-may-be.html Yeah, it's a bit long, sorry. I decided to do it there so a couple of friends can see as...

    BCR's new toy

Such a great bike! I highly encourage you to use the same paint scheme on the tank; no sense in rethinking something that classic and beautiful.

73 CB 750 - First Cafe Projected Aptly Named, "EXCESS"

This is definitely a beautiful bike. Oddly enough, just before I came here, I was cruising some links and randomly found the place that did your paint: Image One Art in Ohio. They even have your seat up on the front page. Very nice, congrats.

Tim's XS project - 750cc rephased ported head titanium valve hot cam craziness

Re: My XS650 project - update June 21 - Speedo, battery, Boyer... Pamcopete only released his setup a few months ago. Along with his setup you (and anyone else that has the TCI or other electronic ignition) will need to get the mechanical advance, rod, and bushings. There is more info at the...

Tim's XS project - 750cc rephased ported head titanium valve hot cam craziness

Re: My XS650 project - update June 4 - Getting the electrical supplies together That's a great little switch! If you don't mind me following your lead, do you know what bike that is off of? It's almost everything I've been looking for... Congrats on a great find!
