Airpod - Lean Condition, Hard Start Question:

Pods are notoriously inconsisent. Are they genuine K&N? I'd start by cleaning and oiling them all. You could also swap them around and see what happens. The airbox on these old (or any carb'd) inline 4 bikes is important to provide consistent equalized airflow and prevent the outer cylinders...

    Srx service manual

So you don't have to keep it hosted there forever, or if it gets moved in the future, I've uploaded a copy to the website for permanent storage :) https://www.dotheton.com/downloads/Yamaha_SRX250_1986_1990_ServiceManual.pdf

    Drivable scaled Ferrari 312pb

This is by far one of the most crazy cool projects ever documented on the site - thanks for sharing it in such detail.

Post a pic of your latest purchase

I should have grabbed a few and hawked them at Mid O ;)

Picked up one of these freestanding storage racks from Princess Auto (Harbor Freight equivalent in Canada) for $65. Needed something here in the bunkie but with all the windows I didn't have anywhere good for shelving, and being able to move this around is handy.

    Trying some design ideas

I wouldn't go to the extreme, but 1, 1.5 inches should be fine. You don't want the forks to slam into the bottom of the triple tree.

Motivating me to get out there and work on my own XS project.

Engine Soda Blast after Sand Blasting

I guess I'd have two concerns. The mating surfaces of course you don't want to leak. A layer of paint wouldn't likely cause issues with a gasket and perhaps some strategically applied sealant. But depending on the paint used on the interior, I'd be concerned about it coming off with exposure...

1994 Salem by Cobra 20' Campa redo!

What is that natural product? I wouldn't mind caking my tool shed in it at the cottage.

1994 Salem by Cobra 20' Campa redo!

How does it work buying a camper in the US and bringing it back to Canada? At some point I expect I'll get a camper trailer, but have always wondered if I could just show up and cross the border with it or if I'd face some questions. I have any number of utility trailer plates, but I figure...

Old men pointing at each other

New owners? Who are they? I don't remember getting paid anything. Not sure if you're maybe thinking about caferacer.net (I really don't care if you post their name or link - never had an issue with them). They sold out to VerticalScope and like all VS sites, became a (bigger) pile of crap.

Old men pointing at each other

You'll note you're posting. Did anybody squash anybody's opportunity to continue a discussion? Nope. Just suggesting you do it in another thread, given the discussion seemed to have nothing to do with the place you were having it. Stay, leave - no worries.

    Chinese radiators

Wider spacing might actually allow more airflow offsetting the reduced number of fins. I’m no radiator expert but there must be some balance that works. That being said if the OEM could be made with less material it surely would have been so it might not work quite as well but that would be...

    Rims and Spokes

Yep - looks like the CM200T has 36 spokes which is great. Some Hondas (most/all the CB's) have 40 spoke rims which make finding replacements hard. Now, the bike seems to have 16/17 inch rims rear and front. When you say a bit larger, do you mean diameter or width? I'd imagine you could bump...

    Rims and Spokes

Also I’ve bought rims from MikesXS in the past. I’m mobile now - how many spokes on the CM200T?

    Rims and Spokes

Buchanan Spokes but it will be expensive. They will sell you spokes for about $100 per wheel for custom stainless spokes and nipples. Then find a local shop to lace and true them for you. I’ve bought probably 10 sets of spokes from Buchanans over the years. Local bicycle shops might be...

    Here's something different - a modern bike! Tuareg 660

I'm sad to say I'm a little aprehensive about my next trip to the US, but I expect the small number of people experiencing issues are making 99% of the noise right now and that it's sort of business as usual for most travelers. I can see a few questions being asked if you're driving across with...

    Heidenau K34 or K36 or Duro HF316

Your bike will reach its limits long before the tire does. I think you'll be plenty happy with whichever tire you can find at the best price. A 3.5" will be a nice improvement over a 4" front tire. Also don't worry about inch vs. mm. You can run a 90mm wide front - no reason to stick to inch...
