    ‘78 Kz1000 w/RC Turbo Kit

I wonder if the second vent on the valve cover was intended for the oil return from the turbo?

I could build something just like this. If I had more skill, patience and vision. Other than that I could probably do it.

    Honda CB-1 Concept

Nice project. Just an FYI, if you need easy rear gearing, the Suzuki GS500F rear sprockets are 520 and the same bolt pattern as the VF500F rear cush drive. Certainly useful to check gearing and such before spending on the much nicer rear sprocket you are running.

    1972 Honda CL450 Scrambler Refurb

Given your fabrication skills and the fact that it is a scrambler style, have you considered a small rear fender with a tasteful rack? You could then mount the tool roll to the end of the rack, resting on the rear fender above a tail light. That might look cool.

Foggy-Brain Dilemma: Pairing VFR800 Front Wheel with ZX10R USD Forks (CB900F Project) - too crazy?

It looks like a 2008 or so CBR1000RR has 320mm discs with 5mm offset and a 94mm center diameter. It might not be too difficult to make a 5mm thick spacer with the correct ID for the vfr wheel and a 94mm lip to center the disc. That should then all bolt up. Double check the year CBR since some of...

I know this may sound like sacrilege or even heresy, but is it possible or even a consideration to look at making a longer swingarm and mounting it much closer to the rear of the engine in those big rear motor mount plates. I think about the advantagees to a longer swingarm, closer distance...

Foggy-Brain Dilemma: Pairing VFR800 Front Wheel with ZX10R USD Forks (CB900F Project) - too crazy?

So, doing a little more internet searching, I found some numbers. Use at your own discretion, since it is internet info. It appears that the 2013 ZX 10 has 132mm disc spacing, inside face to inside face. That is the target to hit with a Honda wheel. It appears that a 2009 CBR600RR wheel has 132...

Foggy-Brain Dilemma: Pairing VFR800 Front Wheel with ZX10R USD Forks (CB900F Project) - too crazy?

I just looked up the respective bearing numbers on Partzilla and then searched for bearing dimensions online. I actually have most bearing dimensions written down as I have been mixing and matching wheels for years. As far as the disc bolt patterns, Honda has only used a couple of bolt patterns...

Foggy-Brain Dilemma: Pairing VFR800 Front Wheel with ZX10R USD Forks (CB900F Project) - too crazy?

If the VFR rotors are 296mm then it is from a 2008 or so VFR. That uses the small bolt pattern rotors and it looks like a 2010 CBr600RR also uses that bolt pattern on 310mm rotors that would probably bolt up to the VFR wheel. The needed offset is unknown at this point. The ZX10 uses a 6005...

Foggy-Brain Dilemma: Pairing VFR800 Front Wheel with ZX10R USD Forks (CB900F Project) - too crazy?

I think the VFR wheel can be made to work. Swapping out bearings for the 25mm ID and the VFR OD should not be an issue. Without looking it up, most of the bikes use off the shelf bearings, so those should be available. You will also need to fit a 25mm spacer between the bearings if the ID of the...

Anyone ever make a tank riser out of wood ?

I have seen wood used in this application any number of times on race bikes, it worked fine and was easy to make test fits and adjustments. If I were doing it now, I would wrap it in carbon fiber and brag about my custom, lightweight, composite tank riser.

    '99 SV650 track rebuild

Rather than go with an R3, I'd recommend an SV650. First gen if you want the carbs and second gen if you prefer EFI. They both have their advantages depending on what you want. I think an R3 at track days is at too much of an HP disadvantage and you are going to be forever giving away position...

Opened a can of worms CB360

Check your kill switch wire or your 12v hot to the coils. Those should be the only common wiring for both coils.

From my experience, with the butt Dyno and lap times, the stock airbox rubbers do the best job of getting air into the carbs compared to straight stacks or pod filters. I think your stacks will be close to perfect. Nice work.

I don't care for a 4-2, just because. I like a 4-1 for the functionality aspect of exhausts. However, in this case, I think 4-4 is the correct answer.

    Restoration of a 74 RD350

The bracket has retaining notches built into it. The rubber just slides over the tab. To get it off, you usually just have to work it back and forth while you pull on it.
