All original paint except for seat pan, original paint on frame. Powder coated side covers, ceramic coated head pipes with megaphone mufflers. Drag bars, leather seat cover. New tires, only put on about 800 miles since completion. Bike is located in Omaha, Ne. $4800 obo Thanks for looking

Pretty bike but that seems like a very large number to me. Just saying
........

Oh boy, here it goes again. All the "poor", diehard bike guys on this forum are gonna slam the crap out of this guy and shame him to go somewhere else to post his bike, because we all know that only a "hipster" would spend $4800 on this bike, and there certainly are no hipsters on this forum.
The same people who do this over and over again are going to jump on here and flame this guy and probably drive him away from this forum. Well done guys. If you don't like his asking price, then keep it to yourselves and don't post it here on the "for sale" section. Keep your bitching to the lounge section. Your comments do not contribute anything.

Yours do though?

$4800 is way more than the bike is worth in todays market. The truth is a bitch. If he gets it, good for him. Don't see it happening. If he can't deal with the reality, than oh well. And, seeing that his only contribution to the forum is trying to take the members cash... His feelings aren't all that important.

I gotta say, you pretty much just had an argument with yourself, and I think we all lost.

Up to that point, no one had bitched or torn the guy another ass hole. Just a couple of reasonably polite observations/comments.

The bike does look nice and clean in those tiny pictures, but that's a big price for a small bike at this time of year. If he gets what he's after that's great, but I would be surprised but you never can tell.

As for the "keep it to yourself comments" I have heard that before. This is not a classified ad or ebay listing. It's a public forum where people post opinions and sometimes facts and unless someone creates a section that is a pure pay to play classified section, people will comment and the good news is that it draws other people to see what the conversation is about and actually improves the probability of a sale. Every post takes it back to the top of the list.

A perfect market requires a knowledgeable buyer and knowledgeable seller ie both have to be aware of what is going on in a market. Capitalism and competition require information and access to knowledge. The idea that a sale will be lost because of a comment on a forum like this about the price is ludicrous. If I think it's too high and say so, no harm done. If you come in and say you think it's fair or cheap, that all adds to the pool of knowledge and adds opinions to the discussion.

A buyer will look for other bikes to compare this one to, and will form their own opinion as to the value to them. There is no reason for people to be scared of discussion and comments.

A cb like this sold on ebay for $4700 last month, and it didn't have a title. I do not have to sell this bike. Going back up on a price is usually pretty difficult, you have to start somewhere.

I'm not getting involved in all this, but I do want to point out:

What Vonyinzer was trying to say is that the general member here on DTT buys a bike for next to nothing and builds it themselves. Not buying an already built bike and just riding it. Of course, there are exceptions to the rule.

Good luck with the sale man - but just pointing out the bike "probably" won't be sold here. Now can somebody quote this post so I cam delete it and be done with this thread?

That ^^^

I honestly wasn't trying to give you a hard time. Just saying that DTT isn't EBay. Top dollar generally doesn't happen here.

Plus all the for sale threads are full of dicks.

Broke dicks at that

Stock bike with low bars, a seat and pipes? Yup full cafe.....

One of two things.
The eBay bike was shill bids or some other BS and will be relisted soon.
Or that guy caught the whale and you missed out.
