68 cb350 leak

1968 cb350. Going through a tank of gas every day. Garage kept and no gas present on floor. Strong gas smell when riding. Any thoughts?
 
Are you turning the petcock off when you park it?
If not its probably draining through the carbs and into your engine.
Check your oil level, its probably way high from gas.
 
I turn the putcock to off when parked. Oil level is at first marker. Possible that gas draining while riding?
 
Its possible yeah, if thats the case you need to figure it out, as gas on a hot engine is bad news bears.

Start it up and rev it and watch the fuel lines and carbs for any leakage.
 
An entire tank in one day? How much are you riding?
Also, 32s are all wrong for that machine. 28s would be a better move. I'm interested to know how the bike performs with 32s. 500cc twins run 32s.
 
Thank you so much- maybe you can help me with this as well... The throttle cable was recently replaced with anther mikuni cable (the correct one) but now the idle screws have no bearing on idle adjustment only turning the throttle cable screw now adjusts the idle. Also turning front wheel side to side makes bike rev very high. Cable isn't caught on tank. Sometimes bike revs to 9000 when first turned on.
