I was riding today and all of the sudden I lost my clutch completely so I limped it to my friends house when I got there I took the access cover off from the center of the clutch cover the nut was completely loose it there a way to insure that that wont happen again?

That nut is a jam nut. You hold the adjusting stud with a screwdriver while you torque down the nut to lock it in place. If it loosened up you simply didn't have it tight enough.

Slacken of the cable adjusters so there is no tension on the cable before adjusting that screw. You will need a box spanner or cranked ring spanner to adjust and tighten it properly.

Thanks guys after further inspection found that the lock nut was actually so stripped there were no threads left must have been loose for a while. Replaced the nut and adjusted it works great
