Another new face... Northern Massachusetts

Hello all. Newbie here from Georgetown Ma. This is my first foray into vintage bikes but I have been around vintage cars and have a few myself. I have always had a love for old bikes just never owned my own, all through my childhood my father rode a '75 Norton Comando and he currently has an '84 Moto Guzzi Lemans 850. I have been looking for a good resto canidate for a while and was talking amongst some of my fathers friends about what I was looking for and one of them started talking of his old Triumph T160 he has been restoring in his basement and his 1966 Suzuki that he had bought brand new in 66. I took a huge interested in the 'Zuki and inquired about it more, he seemed pretty interested that I cared and long story short decided that he would like to see it restored rather than sit and further deteriorate so I am now the proud 2nd owner of a 1966 Suzuki X6 Hustler 250 two stroke.
The bike is a 13k mile bike in need of a whole resto, but it is mostly complete, just got the bike home to my basement last night and will start taking photos of all the parts this evening to do my build thread. My neighbor has a spray booth built in his basement and is a custom chopper builder but is psyched to work on something different and has already volunteered to help with the paint and general resto. Looking forward to meeting some cool people here and I have been lurking around for inspiration here for a while!

I wish I could be so fortunate to get a freebie project. I have a feeling it will be more meaningful than if you just went out and bought something - as well as more motivation to work on it. Do you have any plans? make it a cafe so I can have someone to rip it up to hampton beach to check out the ladies in the summer with! northshore cafe roar!

Congrats on the find man! I just picked up a 72 T250. I love the 60s era models though. Really cool looking. Are you going to do a stock resto, or a racer? Theres plenty of good and knowledgeable folks here so dont heseitate to ask questions if ya have em'. Welcome to DTT BradD! Oh ya, hurry up with the pics!

Will do with the questions trust me, this is my first foray into two strokes! I am going to do kind of a restomod. Mostly stock with some cafe touches I think. Its a pretty rare piece so I dont want to do any major cutting of the stock components. I want to keep it so when someone in the know sees it they will imediatly know its a 'Zuki. Probably a modded front fender, clip ons and rearsets.

Pic content tonight, snow day up here in the North East so I will be stuck inside I am sure!

I hear ya on the snow. It sucks man. >:( Theres a bunch of bikes on here that are stock underneath, if ya know what I mean. Seat, bars, etc... But it could easily be returned to stock.
