Another question for you motorcycle wizards. Looking into RFY shocks for my cb550. Need something different and these are remote reservoir. Look nice, priced right... but possibly a little to right... Looking for some advice. While I would love to run a $1000 set of fox shocks, I just cant afford to. (I am sure most of us can understand!) Maybe I could upgrade down the road but will these do for now? Thanks my friends.

Use the search function. There are a dozen or more threads on RFY shocks. I'd link ya to some but I'm on the mobile... CrazyPJ has some great write ups on them including a how to on making them work correctly. Overall, they're no worse than the crappy and now worn out shocks that Honda used but they are leaps and bounds from being a real upgrade as they come. Need work to make them a real step ahead of anything else on the market.

Thanks cosworth and Von. I did a search on my tablet but not much came up. I suppose I should have just waited until I was on a desktop. Sometimes my tablet doesn't show all the searches. I guess that is what I expected to hear. I know when you buy a $90 dollar pair of shocks you probably get a....... well $90 dollar pair of shocks. If I can tweak them and get by until an upgrade I will go with them. I guess mainly wanting to make sure that no one has said they break in half while going down the road. Ill do some more searching around!

Thanks. If I get a set I may have you work your magic! Looks like a good venture!

Savor provides a great service. For those that are far more inclined to DIY. go here for your first look at how it *can* be done. Notice I did not use the word "should".

Nice thread! I built a bunch of special fixtures that I use to assemble and disassemble them. The amount of thread locker I find on the shocks is enough for the entire space shuttle.

Looks good. I think I can handle doin that. I guess I don't know until I try. Thanks for the guidance!

If you do it yourself be very careful about chafing the seal on its way out. The seals are easy to ruin and and hard to replace. Also, don't blow your face off when removing the bladder.

Chafing will always ruin your day one way or the other. Thanks for the advice. I hope you haven't blown your face off have you?? :o

Haven't blown my face off yet, got close a few times though. Removing the bladder on the first few pairs was interesting to say the least. I've done too many sets to count now and it's become rather easy.
