Good point. I'll have to get my brother on the job.. But I can get a new chrome one from 650central.com for $65. There is a guy on craigslist selling an XS11 brace for 60 shipped but it's rough.

Lowes or Home Depot both sell sheet metal and some cold rolled steel rods. You could probably make something way cool for less than $60.
