Block Printing

So the oppressive Texas heat has stalled the bike progress almost entirely. In the mean time I have delved into wood cutting, block printing, and linoleum carving. It has been a lot of fun, and is an inside activity, but now I have all this stamped crap lying about. The only thing 'useful' to come out of it was a couple of bookmarks. Any ideas on what to do with this stuff?

And the obligatory crescent sun for CrescentSon...

I have thought about making a series that I could used to make coasters or something, but I am really at a loss. I have half a dozen or better blocks done, but don't know what to print on or why. Gess I should think ahead a bit more in the future.

Still working without any form of goal in mind, but still having fun.

Latest one in progress:

I use vinyl composite tile cuz its cheap and plentiful. It holds fine detail like wood, but doesn't have a grain to fight with. The down side is it is slower and more tedious, requiring more frequent stops to strop the blades.

For tools I picked up a set of cheap chisels from the depot, and made some micro chisels out of some old drill bits.

...and the test printing.

Still needs some tuning but my method is improving.

Awesome man! Ill tell ya what, the one of the two crossed swords (the color one) is badass, and Ill pay ya for it. How big is it? Id like to get it framed. Righteous garage art fo sho.

The swords are 5.5" x 6". For you Mike, PM your address and I'll stick it in the mail. Gives me a reason to do another one.
