CB400 Top Yoke

Strangely enough for such a popular bike the CB400F is not listed...the CB400T is there at 33mm....

Sorted Out

I can confirm that the top yoke from a 400F will Fit a 400T, allowing you to adjust the forks in the clamp, a simple solution to lowering the front end for a more Café look.

Hi drduke

Can you go into detail as to how changing the yoke out allows a better cafe look?

Sorry - noob here needing help.

Hi Joe...its a personal thing really, but if you look at the stance of the CB400T, it has more of a cruiser look, the back is lower than the front and the front wheel is a inch bigger than the rear, so by switching the top yoke, allows you to let the forks come up more in the clamps, giving you a more neutral stance...the bike looks level in other works..I will post some pictures, when I have the wheels back on the bike.

Regards Eoin

the top yoke from the four /4 fits with one modification, you will need to mill out about 7mm from the centre fixing bracket to allow the bottom yoke come up and expose thread for the nut.

Hey duke

Cheers for the reply! I didn't even realise the 400T's wheels are a different diameter. :)

Like I said: complete noob!

To me, the obvious changes need to be those awful 80s plastic instruments, the bars (pretty much going to go clip-ons) and the position of the headlight.

Question: since the headlight is coming apart from its backing, I will swap it out for a new one, I'm thinking the mount is fixed to the forks. How to I lower the stance of the new headlight?

Hi Joe

You will need to purchase new headlight brackets land a headlight like these......

Mmmmm. Shiny new parts. 8)

Details and availability please?

Also, I've been researching new instruments on Dime City - am I correct in thinking not every instrument is going to work right? Something to do with ratios? Which is the right ratio for a 400T?

Joe...dime city is the place to go...I think that's where i purchased mine, you would need to talk to them about
the correct ratios on the rev counter for a 400t, i think they have them listed on the web page.
