cb450 Clutch Issue

Hi There,

Bought a 73 cb450 last May. Previous owner had put a new clutch in it as he said the last one was slipping. I have put about 1100km on it since I bought it with very little issues.

In the past week or so, the clutch seems to be slipping again or maybe the cable is stretching. I rode for over an hour this past week. Leaving the city, everything was fine. Coming back into the city, at the stop lights the clutch wasn't fully engaging, so the bike was rolling forward and would stall because of the low rpm's. I adjusted the cable and rode home without issue.
The next day when I went to ride, it was too tight, so I had to back the cable off a bit. After some riding, same issue and it stalled at a light.

What is the permanent fix to this issue so I don't have to keep adjusting the cable? Is it possible that the cable stretches when the bike gets warm?

Thanks!d

Sounds like you are adjusting at the handlebar lever - but that you haven't adjusted the clutch at the case. There are instructions on your service manual, and a great explanation here: http://www.hondatwins.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=51&t=22031&start=0

If you search hondatwins I know that 66sprint there has put a tutorial together as well.

Thanks for the reply. I actually have been adjusting at the case but it only seems to help for a bit. Thanks for the link, I will definitely check it out and see if I can find something that helps me
