Surprise suprise, another budget build. Just looking to get my girlfriends 75' CB550 up and running and road worthy. Currently looking into shocks and I'm not looking to spend a fortune. Anyone recommend some shocks on the cheaper side that won't break the bank but will do the job well? I've checked out a lot of the better brands but also find a lot of cheapos (around $100) that are made to fit and appear suitable. Of course we would all love to throw $250 to $300 at each replacement part we need but as you all know that's unrealistic. Let me know what you all think or have had experience with.

nope
they are made in japan from the olden days, they sold alot of them back in the day
a good economical option in my opinion, you can take them apart change oil or take them apart and ruin them even hahahaahah
hard to go wrong with a servicable shock at that price point

Lmao how did you know possibility of ruining them is likely with me? Haha and that's a good point on them being serviceable.

konis yes, high quality, serviicable, adjustable damping, popular with the collector/builders that want period correct stuff so they get spendy
most used ones need a total rebuild because they get loose material inside what plugs 'em up
the dang piston is very delicate sintered or cast metal ::)
