Hi guys . I have just aquired a GL1000 front end for my cb750 f2.

I will be running gold valve emulators.
What is involved in fitting them ??
I have the basics of what is involved but i would like specifics .

Do i just need the emulators or do i need to make spacers ? Or other parts
Do the springs need to be shorter to accommodate them ??
When enlarging the holes, is there a specific size require or just big enough to eliminate it??
What about pre load adjusters ......do i need to take this into account for fitment ??
Does any of this info come with them ??

Basicly what do i need to know ??
What tools do i need ??

Photo purely for attention.

Basically all of your questions are answered in the instructions included with the emulators.

The forks will need to be completely disassembled to get the damper rods out (this is a good opportunity to do forks seals too). You will need to drill the holes, the instructions will tell you how. If you need spacers, they should come with spacers. You might end up with too much preload, so you may need shorter springs, but this probably won't be the case.

You will need the right tools to service your forks, I have no idea with those specific forks, but it is likely just an allen key, a screw driver, a device to hold the damper rod if they turn (specific to your model), fresh oil, drill and drill bit, deburring tool of some variety, fork seal driver.

It's an easy modification, should take like an hour.

Excellent !! Thanks Sav0r .

Yep , the whole lot will get the big birthday ....seals , wheel bearings etc

Thanks
Russ

They will go on the shelf with all the other factory stuff .
If i choose to go much further i will rebuild it to factory spec , start again on a bare frame and get carried away.
