CB77 cracked case

Just bought the remains of my uncle's restoration project. He used three bikes to make one complete one, and has 80% of another bike left.

This was a donor motor but apparently ran 15 years ago.

My issue is the crack in the case above the main bearings. Somebody seems to have tightened the cases up without engaging the locating dowel in the upper case with the hole in the bearing.

It has been JB Welded and used since this happened. My gut is telling me don't chance it. Not sure if anybody has gotten away with it so unless I get a for sure positive go it's time for new cases... when I get around to this project in a few years, if I'm being honest here.

Thank Tz, I inspected the bearing oil passage and it shows no damage. I'll remove the dowel and get some aluminium JB weld.

This is going to be a more fun and relaxed project. I like the old C engines, but I like the 180° crank better. I finished up a Dream earlier this year and have wanted my own, after seeing what a fine restoration the previous owner had done.
