Hi guys,

Im building my first cafe racer. One ugly gsx550es from year 83. fell into my garage one day and i got an idea (after few beers) that i should try to make something nice out of it. I ll try to build some modern (ish) cafe racer... So long story short im in the point where i have to deside what forks to use. I have also a cbr600f3 (with no fairings) sitting in the corner of my garage and i thought to use as many parts as i can to make GSX more upgraded.
So my question is that what would you do if you have a gsx550 with 37mm forks and spare 41mm cbr forks... Should i look for some Suzuki 41mm tripletrees or can i bolt on or modify Honda's forks somehow?

Looks like the bearings are the same size based on the All Balls conversion charts. Other things you'll have to look at will be the sterring stem length, the length of the current forks vs. the ones you want to swap, the rake/trail of each set of forks, and whether or not the newer forks will clear your tank, steering stops, any radiators, etc.

If you're pulling that F3 apart, does it have a good motor you'd be interested in selling? Have an F2 that threw a rod. F3 engine bolts right up.

The engine runs great, no leakages and yes i m selling it. I got the entire bike from a dude who wanted to build a stuntbike but ran out of time and money... I got it without fairings and speedo/tacho/odometer so i cant say exactly how many miles it has.
The other problem is that im from Estonia- northen part of Europe and sending it to out of EU might cost a ton of money...

Kippikayee.... Well I just finished the swap and its basically a bolt on swap. I just have to weld new steering stops to the frame and thats it. 8)
