Looking to swap out my cm400 pistons for some 450's. The piston pins for the 450's are larger, so I ordered a set of connecting rods from a 450 with the larger hole at the small end. The large end is the same based on the manuals, but the 400 rods have a small oil hole pretty close to the cap nut and the 450 rods don't.
Anyone know if this oil hole is absolutely necessary? Everything else on the rods and crankshaft looks exactly the same.....
