complete noob with cb650 - future brat project

Hi, just bought myself a 1981 cb650.
Plans are to turn into some sort of brat style bike ???

really like the look of the dcc upswept tan seat, the rest im unsure of as yet!

im a complete noob when it comes to bikes really, built a couple of custom monkeybikes with friends but thats about it, so gonna be a bit of a learning curve!

any ideas welcomed! unsure of what to do exhaust wise, and wheel/tyres? not sure if i really like the standard wheels or if i prefer wires?

that bike is a perfect candidate for a superbike style type replica it already has the flowing lines of the tank seat and sidepanels just needs a tailpiece
much cooler than any bratarded deal,and more enjoyable to ride with the comfy seat you already have

I had a similar style CB900 - one [ of 100s ! ] of bikes I wish I still had !

First off - decide which style you want to aim for, or no particular style - your choice. But what you do need, is a plan.

The CB lends itself to most styles, mine couldn't make up it's mind if it was a Flat Tracker or a Streetfighter !

Whichever way you go - ditching the OEM lights, seat, peg rests, etc. will not only give you marginally better performance [ less weight ], but give you a free hand with the "style".
