Nice Yammy! What headlights are those? Are you considering converting to the cafe side?

Got the lights at an automotive store.Just wanted something different.Don't know about the "converting" thing yet.I have a few too many projects in the fire right now,and not alot of time.I'll manage somehow..

Would love to see/hear more about the front wheel. What is it off, how did you brace it on the forks for braking and what did you do for the brake light switch? I ask because I'm fitting a Yamaha front drum to my project bike.

It's just a factory front drum that was on the bike.I just yanked off the front fender.I used a brake cable off an rd 350 yamaha.Doesn't exactly match up the greatest, but it works. It's an 81'.It's a fun 'round town scoot.

hey do you realize that the front drum was not stock for that year. stock was disk. drum was only on 70-72 xs 1, xs2,

just fyi

The front wheel looks like it's from a Honda Dream.
It's the only left side brake pull and brake arm hub I could find.
The hub looks right (completely blank on the right side) and the middle bead in the rim, as well as the spoke configuration looks right.
It looks like he's using the fender mount for the brake arm mount.
Interesting stuff.

Thats an XS400 special. The special came with the wire wheels and always was front drum. The standard models with the cast wheels like mine always had the discs front and back. Nice bike though, there's a few other XS400s on this board if you're interested to see what they can look like, check out my project thread.... Project Odin. Might have to go back a bit as I haven't updated in a while, just too damn busy!!!

I only know because I have two of them bikes and was looking for a set of those wheels for a while. Decided against them now though.

Thanks for the thread info.I like the mag look for wheels. For now the toothpicks will do me ok.I will check out the thread on your 400.Always great to see some options.
