Harley 883 Engine Rebuild

Thoughts? That would be a game changer if it didn't need new cases, which I originally was a little confused about too as to why it would need new casing.

Sounds to me he put a high lift cam in and poked a piston with a valve(s)

I don't know the guy, but unless someone can vouch I would take all of it with a grain of salt... "needs new cases" is just that motor case bottom end case not rocker boxes on top of the heads.

Buy it, check it out, you can fire sale it for $700 again.

Whenever I finish the Kdx this month and get it sold, I'm going to pull the trigger on this. This guy is a friend of a friend and have met him a couple times, so he trusts me enough to let me take the motor to a friend of mine who is a shop owner and Harley tech to give it a look over and an actual assessment of what needs replaced before I even actually pay him the 700.

Thank you to everyone who has helped weigh in on this and hopefully you'll see a new build thread soon!

Holding off on the Harley for now, picking these two rd's tomorrow for 750. Nether run but as you can tell the one is aftermarket and built to be the beginnings of the race bike, the other is a super complete looking parts bike. Comes with a third rd350 motor as well.

Hell of a score with the RD's. For that sporty bobber, it's worth it for parts at the price I would think. I'd have grabbed it if it were in my area at that price.
