I've been to this site before, but only started posting this morning. A friend of mine, Kodiak, is a veteran member. I'm currently "between cafe's" as my 1974 GT380 was stolen some time back and I've been too heartbroken to build another one. However, my interest in cafe racers has never faded, and I'm on pace to have a snorting popping money-pit by spring. Thanks for tolerating my presence.... Oh, and if anyone comes across a 1974 GT380 with the engine numbers GT380-70877, let me know! I want it back!

I heard mill has a big cafe scene . Im north of greenbay and have NEVER seen any around , i hope to change that but tough in harley country I get alot of it doesnt look very comfortable i say theirs looks like it corners for crap lol

You know, it's a horse apiece. I think cruisers are uncomfortable and cafe's and sportbikes are the way to go. There really is a big cafe scene here in brewtown, as a matter of fact we have a really nice vintage/cafe gathering every year in the fall down in the old third ward. There are quite a few posers who only ride one or two months out of the year, but you'd be surprised some of the cool stuff you see if you know where to look.

I fliped the bars and frame road this, fell in love . it did nothing for me as a cruiser , but now it corners like a hot knife through govornment cheese ! funest bike i have not the fastest(yet) but for sure the funest

So... Digging through my stash of parts, I came across an old Benelli mini-bike tank. And it started gears turning in my head.....

This is the tank. Kinda cool looking with the polished sides and the pinstripe around that... But not practical for use as a gas tank on a full-size motorcycle, yeah? Hold's about 3/4 gallon. But then I got to thinking about my old two-stroke, and how bad I wanted to clear out the area under the seat, but had no place to go with the oil tank. And I thought about how in the old days guys used to take a mold off the back of a gas tank to make a seat hump. And I wondered why I hadn't thought of using the seat hump as an oil tank.... and POW. I had an epiphany. I'm going to use this old Benelli tank AS a seat hump AND either an oil tank or reserve gas tank. Depending on what kind of bike I get my grubby little hands on this spring.

Oh yeah. i want a streetbike with a dustbin fairing. Am I insane? Yes. But Brilliant!
