Hey all,
I've been on this site checking out all of the beautiful bikes and great wisdom for a while now. I finally decided to join and introduce myself and my bike, a 1972 CB350 K4 - a.k.a. The Orange Whip. I picked her up three months ago. I was looking for an old CB for the primary reason of building my first cafe racer which I have long desired to do. Problem is, I hadn't planned on finding this bike, in this amazing original condition. She had only 7k original miles and still had the original made in Japan Bridgestone's on her. Long story short, I quickly fell in love with this bike. She is so fun to ride. Maybe it's a mid-life crisis because I learned to ride as a young kid in the 70's on an old CB125, blah, blah, blah. But I will say this is the coolest bike of the many that I have owned over the years. So far, I've just done a lot of basic maintenance (too busy riding her for anything else), new rubber, chain, battery, petcock rebuild, fork seals, etc. And as much as I really, really want to I just can't seem to bring myself to cafe it out. I think it needs to stay original. Any thoughts on this topic? I guess the answer is to get a second bike eventually.
