is this normal? (dumb question re: rear axle nut spaces)

on my rd350,
there is a few threads gap between the tightening nut and lock nut on rear axle, both are as tight as they can be...
i know i can remedy this with a washer on the axle, just wondering if this is normal....there is no washer in parts diagrams.
i am afraid the tightening nut will vibrate loose and perhaps my axle will start rolling around, adjustment brackets fall out of place, wheel gets crooked etc...

Pretty sure there's a washer between the nut and adjuster... Check a parts fische to be sure.

no washers needed ,but you could use one if there is room
as long as both are tight yer good
that type of lashup is so you can pull the wheel of without takinf off the sproket

no, the gap is normal you are not understanding the concept or design

If you use a split pin cotter pin, or wire the slotted nut like it's meant to be (which it looks like you have), you won't have to worry anyway.
