Yes, there needs to be a twin [ parallel ] in my stable of toys before I fall off the perch.

Has to be large as I'm ...large. 650's are just too small enough [ physically ].

I've settled on looking round for a KZ750 twin with hopefully wire wheels [ BSA Rocket Gold Star homage ] - but I've heard there are potential issues with the engine.

Advice gratefully received. ;D

Unique large diameter valve shims are rare as hen's teeth.
Use an exhaust cam on the intake side for a boost in performance.
Typical cv carb and pod issues.
78mm x 78mm,good low rpm grunt and usually all done by 5000 rpm stock.

Apologies to all KZ owners :-[ :-[ - it's the YAMAHA TX750 that was referred to as "having problems". 8)

It's all good....

There is a forum for them (here: http://www.armbell.com/kz400/index.php?mforum=kz400 )

The starter clutch goes bad (it wasn't really made for a 750) but they can be rebuilt (and I'm currently investigating some options for a more permanent fix).

Other than that, they seem to be pretty bullet proof. Lots pf spares available, though they take a bit of research to find (no KZ version of Mike's XS).

The valve shims can be a problem, but it looks like there is some car with the same size (32mm) shims.

Shiny Side Up!
Bill
