Hey guys , hopefully someone can help

Thanks :)

What kind of bike?

Typically going to leak from three places: where it mounts to the tank, the bowl o-ring, or the seal for the selector switch. Depending on the bike, rebuild kits are usually available for $20 or so (for Honda CBs, e.g.).

It's a 1978 honda cb500t , the leak seems to be coming from the " on,off " tap....

You put the "wavy" washer behind the lever instead of on top. Take it apart and you'll see what I mean.

Or the rubber seal gave out. You can buy those individually for $5 or so. Use a tiny bit of grease to barely coat the surface before replacing it...
