mikuni vm30 vs vm30-83?

Anyone know what the difference is between the two variations? The vm30-83 are labeled as "round slide". I'm not sure if that has any effect on a bike. I'm wanting to install these on an '80 cm400t. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

VM30 vs VM30-83

They are all round slide carburetors. TM is a flat slide, for instance

The second number is the trim setup. see here: http://www.mikunioz.com/jetting_specs.htm

For instance, a VM30 for a snowmobile is VM30-164

So the second number has to do with the jetting and options. On some models there is a left and a right model too
