Hey it's been about 14 years, for better or worse never found her way back home for the 3rd time. Who's alive from back then, everyone I hope

I did a roofing job and got paid in VT750DC. Stripped it down and after cleaning and painting it's going back together. When did 70's/ 80's japanese gas tanks get so expensive. Hate the fat shadow tank, so Ive been hitting it with hammers

Welcome back. It's a 750 twin and should be a great lead sled or around town cruiser. The frame backbone is an odd shape and that could require you to make a tank form scratch. Might be time to take some pictures from the side and start drawing tank and seat shapes to see what works for your sense of style.

It looks like it was styled to look very similar to an HD and may be hard to develop a new style for it. It all depends what yu want it to look like and whether it is possible to get there from here.

Yep, you're correct. The back bone is terrible. I have a piece of handrail from a locomotive, I'm sure it would be strong enough, but I don't think I've got the skills or the Cahone to actually cut my neck.

Cool project for sure! My first "real" bike was a 99 shadow A.C.E. 750, which shares the same power plant. I rode it for years and it was a great bike. Not alot of power, but it was comfortable enough and reliable as could be. I never had the first mechanical issue with it. Looking forward to watching, and welcome back!
