Pre kat engines

I recently got myself a 91 750 katana with a blowen engine.Unfortunately all I could source for a replacement engine is a 600 kat engine but its fine by me cause it looks like the motor is in great shape.
Ive read every where that the Pre kat engines were detuned versions of the Gsxr motors of the time.My question is what exactly was done to detune them?Cams?Valves?
What can I do to get a few more ponys out of my 600?

Different cams, valves and carbs IIRC.


Bandit motors slot straight in as well.

How feasible is it to go from 32mm carbs to 36mm carbs.I only ask because I have the 750 carbs(36mm) and the 600 takes 32mm.Im thinking I will have idle and bottom end issues,but Ive been told its possible?
