Easy if you don't. In California you just need to take it to the CHP (Highway Patrol) and have them inspect it. They give you some signed form, then you get a new pink-slip for it from the DMV when you register it with the form CHP gives you.
depends on your state... some its super hard, others they ask how long you've owned it for.... and we all know that you've owned it for more then 5 years
