S. Carolinian in Deutschland

geemann

habitual tinkerer
I am a scoot-loving South Carolinian living in Germany. I knew that I wanted a motorcycle from the very first time I rode on the back of my Uncle's bike as a kid, and now that I have one, I want more!

My stable currently consists of a 1992 Honda CB750 NH (yes, that is the DOHC 750cc delight pictured below), and 7 bicycles (sorry, no pics).

I have 7 bicycles because I am a habitual tinkerer and each one has a built purpose. Now that I have had my motorcycle for a year, it is time to do some more serious tinkering

. But first, I need to learn. I am here because my current goal is to find a 1973 CB350F, restore, modify, and fabricate until the motorcycle that graces my dream is running strong. Although I am living in Germany right now (without a scoot

) I return to SC in August and I want to start building as soon as possible! So until then, I will be lurking, learning, and contributing what I can.

With budget permitting, my bike should look a little like this one. Except more cafe rear, clean and neutral bars, with a dose of modern technology. If I even knew how to photoshop I would be happy to show you more what I mean.

Welcome to the madness G! Great 750 you have now. Is there a particular reason you are looking for a 73 350F?

welcome... yeah thats a more rare bike without the pay out of much more power... just saying if you're going to mess with more carbs might as well have more comfort/power. not knocking your dream bike cause i think they are awesome, i just ride a 350 and two carbs is just magical. a fellow SC here so enjoy over seas until you come back to these "great places and smiling faces". keep us posted

thanks rich!

I know it is a rare bike, but the search is half the game for me! The reason I want the 73 is for no good reason other than symmetry in numbers (yes, I do know how that sounds.). The reason I want the 350 is beacuse it has a beautifully proportioned engine to frame balance. I know that it will def be lacking in the power department compared to my current 750, but I want a project to keep me busy for a good long while and the rarity of this bike coupled with rare parts will make for a long project, which is a-ok by me.

cheers,
-g
