Soda blasting heads do or don't

My question is about heads. I pulled the engine on my CL350 to get the piston unstuck. Tore down to the pistons to find the right hand cylinder rusted in place. I used a method I had read about here and on hondatwins to un-stick the piston which took about a 1/4 cup fuel 1/4 cup A.T.F. and an old sock for the wick and lit in on fire. Put it out and let it cool and it pressed right out. Now I am trying to clean the heads up and I am to the point where I need to get into the intake and exhaust openings but can not find anything to get inside to finish cleaning all the corrosion out. Basically trying to get the guides cleaned up enough to replace without tearing up the head. We have a soda blaster here at the shop. Will this be ok to finish out the process or will it fowl everything up? As always thanks for the help.
 
If you have a means of thouroughly cleaning the soda leftovers from the head, you should be golden.
Otherwise, you can try an ultrasonic cleaner - they work well, but most folks dont keep them in their garage shop, so it's a pay-to-play option.
The soda should clean off anything that isnt aluminium (paint, carbon etc.) but will leave everything else alone. I've never blasted with any goo left on my parts (grease, oil, etc) but I'd assume the soda will just stick to that. If you have any gooey deposits I'd advise a good cleaning first.



*Note: take any advice you recieve on a forum with a grain of salt. Just because it worked for me, doesn't mean it'll be good for you.*
 
Yep pretty nasty. Looking for one that is useable this is off of a cl350 1972. If you know of any please let me know. I'm fairly new here so just P.M. I think? Field find with one cylinder stuck and the heads corroded. Should have seen it before the clean up. ;)
 
Best thing I can recommend is start looking around ebay and craigs list and your local dealers. They may know where a decent junk yard is.

I'm screwed around here, I do most of my parts buying online.

I have started already. Found one on Ebay and have one listed in the buy it section here. They look to both be pitted but look brand new compared to mine. Thanks again.
