Some progress on "One Down" the VTR fighter

I posted pics of my new ride awhile ago, and finally I have had some time to work on. It turns out that the original owner killed himself on it 6 months after he bought it, hence the name.
This is where I am now. I replaced the ugly headlight assembly, added new signals, and sourced up a Two Brothers race exhaust for $85 delivered! This thing is at least respectable to go out in public until I can work it over this winter. Future mods include: Polished frame, black paint, different tail, new gauges, and a little tweaking here and there. Otherwise, it is staying as it is!

Are you going to clean up the gauge cluster? That's the first thing I see that I would work on if you're not putting some sort of mini fairing on.

I agree with Joe on the sidemount radiators. I think they would look GREAT in black.

Def keeping the radiators! I was originally going to mount them under the seat with pusher fans, and make it look like a Monster, but I am going to keep the VTR trademark now! I would really like to anodize or powder the rad tanks, but we will see. And like I said earlier, the gauge cluster is going! I like my new headlight a lot, and think a single chrome gauge would look real nice, along with the removal of the current gauge bracketry. Does anyone know where I can find an Acewell gauge that is available?
I am thinking about an R1 tail, to slim it down and add a little more rake to it. I also need to tweek a little here and there to get everything straight. The polished frame and black paint should help to set it off, too. And I am thinking maybe white wheels.

And the TBR pipes added a little. I had the old dyno sheets with the 2-1, and they stopped at 96 hp @ the wheel. With the TBR pipes, I can get 107 HP and 71 ft/lbs torque! Definitely worth the $85 I paid for the pipes ;D

I dunno about the Acewell gauges, but I know that Koso, while a bit more expensive, are infinitely easier to get.

I was going to do a tach and bicycle speedo on the Kawa I am abandoning. Now I am trying to figure out how t get a tach on my Monster.

If I could read better, I would have seen that you were planning on changing out the gauges :-[

They just stuck out oh-so-much for me.

That gauge clutster IS ugly! I am kind of looking for a more retro style gauge, but with digital capability. THe Koso will probably work, but looks a little more transformer than I like.

This is a new style for me, so I am feeling my way along!
