Sprocket Reccomendations - GR650

Hey all,

I have a GR650 I just build into a neat little cafe style bike. Only thing is, I find it revs high as hell to go highway speeds. Redline starts at 8000, I find i am pushing 5500 - 6000 to go 110/120 km/h on the highways. The stock gearing is a 15 tooth sprocket up front and a 42 tooth sprocket on the rear. I've seen 16 tooth fronts available from PBI and 38 tooth rears available from JT on ebay. Would getting both of these be overkill? I think knocking the RPM's by about 1000-1500 at highway speed would be ideal. I find first gear is barely needed and I am ready to shift into 5th at 70km/h.

Does somebody who knows how to do the bike math have any reccommendations for me? This is my first chain drive so not really sure what works. Thanks!

Check clutch isn't slipping, fit larger sprocket to front and smaller to rear. Bike should easily be capable of cruising at 120Km/hr and top out around 170Km/hr (around 105~110 mph)
