Suspension Painting

I've got a 1980 Honda CB650c and I want the coils in the rear red. Preferably with a smooth rubber look to it. Any suggestions of what I can do? Some sort of tubing I could slip over would be sweet.

You could just paint it.

If you want the coating to actually be rubber, pick up some red Plati Dip in a spray can.

Also sold at Lowes and most auto stores.

Surface prep is key and you will need to make sure your spring compressor is not going to mar the new coating.

A buddy of mine told me plasti-dipping it would look like all hell, but I'll give it a try. Thanks.

You can also go with Plasti Dip or a rubberized automotive undercoating.
