Torontos own...

Hi everyone.

I'm new to the scene, just got my first bike. 1972 Honda CB450. All original and in pretty decent shape.

I'm planning to ride it this season and do a full resto-mod over the winter. (minus a few tiny mods I can't resist doing right away *cough* clubmans)

I've always loved cafe bikes and I recently turned 25 and decided to finally take up riding. I'm a gear head who's gone through 20 or so pretty crazy cars over the past decade. They just don't do it for me like they used to and I'm looking forward to cruising on my bike this summer here in Toronto. The scene here is pretty good and I'm sure I'll meet some of you soon at meets or randomly around town.

First pic is my bike! (not bad for $900 cad)

Second and third pics I found on the internet, they are examples of what I think a sweet cafe racer should look like and what mine might turn out to resemble. Black wheels, de-chroming most of the bike is a must.)

Thanks for reading!

Welcome to DTT! Not bad at all for $900. Don't hesitate to ask any questions, there's a very knowledgeable group on here.

Sweet - so is it on the road? You're licensed / plated etc? Few of us might be milling about tonight. I'm riding out to Tim Hortons at Lakeshore / Leslie around 8PM or so, and then up to Black Dice at 1574 Dundas St West.

Tons of people will be at Tim Hortons tonight - every Thurs night if you didn't already know about that. Black Dice is the place to hang out and have a drink / play pinball / plug the jukebox. One of our good friends owns it.

Wow, "Toronto's own" DeadRebel!! I didn't know! ::) ;D ;D

Welcome! You'll find "like minded" Honda owners here! Tons of info and friendly advice! 8)

See ya around! :)

haha I don't even know where the Toronto's own title came from or what it means :P

To answer an earlier post, no the bike isn't on the road yet. I'll have it out in June at which point I'll hit up one of the timmies meets. A good friend of mine just got a CB350 and we'll be noob-ing around together most likely.

Just an update, I've cleaned the bike up and added matte black clubman bars and mirrors, K&N pod filters w/ airboxes removed, small LED taillight, and I have a cafe-style seat I haven't installed yet.

Anyone know of a good upholstery guy who can re-cover my old pan with the new pad and leather in the GTA??

next things planned are trimming the rear fender and painting it black, painting the wheels black, and new exhaust. Any suggestions on exhaust??

Thanks for looking!

Very nice!!..

See if you can get your hands on a set of Hooker highmount headders
