Re: ** Dibs on this!!**...

Something tells me there are reasons why there aren't many of these.

1) Dirt/Dust creating friction - There doesn't look like there's much room between the rotor and the cover plate. If anything gets in between it may contribute to friction which simply isn't good for your brakes

2) Easy to dent / get dirty - the plate goes at a very vulnerable part of the bike. Dirt, and pebbles may scratch the hell out of it.

Though ... if it does work, let us know. It does look pretty cool and fairly easy to make (if you can figure out how to mount it without putting pressure on the rotor). I'd love to throw a custom one on one of my project bikes.

Re: ** Dibs on this!!**...

Kinda "Gold-wingy" But unique for sure...

I can see it being turned into a giant "DOTHETON" patch or a big "59" That would be cool.

Just said it cause it reminded me of the brake covers on dad's goldwing. everything on that bike is covered up.

Anyway, not to discourage. I'm sure you'd make it look cool.

Oooh .. sorta like the anti-spinner ads they have on taxi cab wheels these days.

Which makes me ask a stupid question ... does anyone know of spinners for wheels on vintage bikes?

Re: ** Dibs on this!!**...

here's one I found on the web

Just thought of this ...

If Spinners on a car make the car look like it's going fast when standing still ... does that mean rotor covers make the bike look like it's standing still while going fast?

Re: ** Dibs on this!!**...

the more and more I think about it... Im not sure that I like the rotor covers..
Makes me feel like I should have gold-caps put on my teeth and corn-rows in my hair... ;D

Re: ** Dibs on this!!**...

I've seen this exact product on a goldwing. It made me look twice cause i thought the rotors were chrome or polished or something... to much 'bling' IMO

Man, you are so easily influenced.

Indeed I am.. you should see how many times I've switched back and fourth between long distance plans whenever a telemarketer calls or between Rogers & Bell..LOL...

Geezzz.. but it would make my bike look as though its missing a big ass farring, King & Queens Seat w/ arm rests, a trailer with a cooler in the back, a sidecar with a VCR/TV combo, and a tape player spittin out Kenny Rogers tunes from a 10 speaker system that is build into the farring...

No need for a pic! That's the stock covers on an OLD-wing. haha... without the lights.
