Been Around the Block
So I am kinda interested in those vintage "pudding basin" helmets. The ones made by Davida look amazing, but make your wallet feel super light. On the other hand I have spotted some HCI 50/55's but I think they do not sell them anymore due to a recall. Does anyone know where I can find one for less that $100, or should I stick with my DOT + Snell Shoei TZR. (Please don't turn this into a full face helmets vs vintage/just barely DOT debate). Thanks!

These are rebranded HCI vintage 55 helmets. Which were recently pulled off the shelves. I have one. They don't really feel like much of a helmet...but they are DOT approved. I've been pulled over for wearing a 'fake' helmet while riding with one on.
 
Seems like they are hard to find, since all places I looked at (5 min search at work) show them out of stock. Anyway I hope this thread is kept open for others, I decided to stick with modern protection of a full face helmet.
