what the h?? Mikuni VM OEM mixed Needle valve size

I purchased a carb repair kit form an eBay top rated seller with a rating of 99.5%. All parts are said to be manufactured at in Japan at OEM quality and specs.

Only just realised that both the old and new needle valve's are marked 1.5 but they are clearly different in size. The new ordered needle is significantly smaller than the one which i found in the carb to begin with.. (who know's which one is the right size)
but is this a common problem???
any thoughts

had a similar experience when looking for pilot jets for mikuni BS,
It's possible they have mixed up the needles, since different models can have the same number but have vastly different sizes (but the same number).

Didn't you get the seat for the needle valve as well?

You don't usually need new brass to clean a carb .
You don't need to rebuild a carb if it doesn't need it .
All that is usually needed is a couple of orings and the bowl gasket
I get all my brass from sudco or another mikuni/keihin supplier
most if not all the kits you see on ebay are crap unless original mikuni/keihin brass
Save yourself some needless pain and get the right parts the first time

yeah the seat came with it as well and they work fine together. although it is considerably smaller to suite the needle. might revert to the old one but the valve is a little sticky once it's snug in the seat.
i'll see what happens when I figure out whether or not my crank seal is dust.. i'm getting far too much excess oil out the exhaust.

i just purchased the kit because i needed the gasket, air screw and needle (was bent)
was impossible to track down what type of VM it was. i measured according to the manual but when i ordered the gasket in it wasn't the correct type. i heard that some carbs were manufactured just for the particular model.. the VM for this suzuki tc120 could be one of them and i finally tracked down a kit for TC carbs on eBay US.
