Not here in Maine, they sell the full blown Wranglers and some Levis for 19.99. In Canada the wranglers are 50 and the Levis are 75-100. I don't shop in Canada for jeans. We get ripped off. I drive the 15 mins to Maine and get em cheap LOL. Sorry for the Jack Milky, I can't spend $$ on fashion, never have never will I get name brands from Good will or forget it.

no worries... just tell me how to fix my wiring and all is forgiven!

OK, what's up with the Wires?;D

ha ha... its all good... I'm gonna buy a replacement "pre-loved" loom off evil-bay.. should come in at bout 50 bucks... then the fun begins... just deciding whether to have idiot lights or not... ;)

I'd love to have a custom loom from SPARKO (he's on here) but my budget is going to other causes .. like an engine rebuild!

That's easy are you and idiot ;D Only ones I would not delete would be an oil warning light if equipped, the rest like neutral etc you should know how to tell without the light anyway. My MSC course they pulled the neutral light bulbs so folks had to learn to find neutral without it.

good no?

i think so... they are quite massive, though in fact the ugly "boxy bit" of the muffler will be hidden with some heat guards that will match the redesigned side panels.

all we have to do now (apart from get better at taking photos) is construct a "Y" connector making the travel of exhaust go from two into one back into two again.. i'm hoping it wont effect the flow too much...

cheers

MORE PICS!

I know you chaps would rather see pics than long as explanations of how we welded some stuff together using only a home made blowtorch and some duct tape... so here-s some more pics of some the exhaust guard and the front fender mounts

the fenders are repro jobs from a MONTESSA... under 60 bucks the pair

Re: DR600/ DR750 FLAKY TRACKER - "THE FLAKER"

the exhaust..

The original idea was to use a pair of HONDA DOMINATOR pipes and mufflers but they just looked too heavy and kinda went way from the skinny look of the bike.. so went for an off the shelf EU kitemarked exhaust from MARVING which is compatible with the DR600&650 ... cheap too for the look.. around 90 euros

as we are keeping the airbox and the carb the same we saw no need to start f]cking with the system... its a 600 for petes sake not a racing bike!

Kept the original back light too
.. it kinda works.and i want to leep.some nod to the 80's.... everyone had those "bates" look rear lights... not me!

Ha! Yeah, I hear ya. There's a lot of good info on wheels / suspension there though.

Whatever you do, keep this thread alive. The DR is a great platform.

I'm back! BEEN A LONG LONG TIME.. THINGS HAVE PROGRESSED THOUGH! :)

Re: DR600/ DR750 FLAKY TRACKER - "THE FLAKER"

Mawnin all... i my continued effort to post photos... here-s the frame back from the paint... didn't go for powder.. its kinda expensive and if its gets chipped and scratch, which is inevitable.... i-d rather be able to re/spray with ease...

i know a black frame is kinda "standard" but it will pull the seat/frame and tank together.. and hide day to day road muck and oil...

the frame was de/tabbed where needed and we cut off the original pillion pegs... ready for some bolt on fold up rear pegs which i can store when not being used...

Re: DR600/ DR750 FLAKY TRACKER - "THE FLAKER"

Looks great mang!

By the way though... powder now has a spray on heat gun blend application for repairing powder coats, works great I am told, But (always a but) I have been using the appliance epoxies for frames and that stuff is almost fool proof!!
