74 CB360T Rookie Build

If you have a suspect fuse but it looks fine. Drop it on the floor. then check it again w meter. sometimes the filament will be broke. when it cools they can sit together and even read good. once it warms they separate again. the shock of dropping it will help to separate broken ends.

OR simply throw the .10 cent suspect in garbage and replace. ::)

Oh yes, congrats on finding the bad fuse! But mostly for using your manual. good job!

You are well on your way to becoming a REAL bike builder...and not some hipster! That cries to DTT or runs the bike down to a "professional" at the first hiccup.

;)

I use a multi a lot. Im a Maintenance Supervisor at a collection of apt complexes on campus. I have 12yrs experience in the building and maintenance of homes and buildings so all this is pretty humbling haha. Ive ran into electric water heater elements that will test fine then you take it out and its fried so i know not to always trust it. Tried the drop it on the floor thing and theres no continuity now. Mustve been hanging on by a thread.

Thanks. And yeah no hipster here. Just new to bikes in general. Had an r6 in the Corps for a few months but learned to ride on Dads Harleys and a dirtbike. Haven had a bike in 10 years and still consider myself a novice+ rider.

Cool, BTW Its really handy if you blow the drawing up on a copier. I made one like 14x22. it sucks having bi-focals. I lost it along time ago. I need to make another one...lol

Yeah ive got it up on my tv through my laptop haha! My eyesight is fine but its MUCH easier to read.

hell ya! We keep the macbook in the garage full time and I got the 48" about 4 feet from the bike. now just need to get the daughter home long enough to show me how to make that happen. do you use a cord? like a mini-hdmi to hdmi ? I bet I can get a 12 footer on amazon for cheap.

Dont know about macs but it ahould have an "hdmi out" slot. Take hdmi cord (pictured) and plug it to an hdmi slot on your tv and the mac. Then switch tv input to the hdmi that its plugged into.

You might have to go to your screen settings on the mac and select to "mirror" the screen to tv. Most laptops just automatically mirror.

hells yes! $20 everything i need (mini display port) and 25ft to run overhead and drop down. best of all, free shipping.

Yeah its nice! Went on a short ride and everything looks fine. It was my headlight fuse that blew. Lights are much better now. They were very dim so i hadnt ridden at night yet. Much better now.

Update. Took rear fender, tail light, signals, and seat off. Also checked air filters and had a mishap with the brittle 41y/o plastic side covers :-(

OH dag-friggen-nabbit! that sucks.

But I tell you what. I dont know what material this guy is using. For $35 if its not as brittle as originals it might definitely be worth a try.

Thanks trek97 I've been busy...
Goal is to be able to alternate seats easily. I realize the height difference between the two but o should be able to mod the foam on the original seat to sit a lot lower. An inch diff in seat height is fine with me if it means the wife can ride occasionally and the bike can still have a vintage look when desired.

I took my wife for a ride ONCE. LOL. Her very first time on a motorcycle. (btw she is like 53yo)

we went about a mile down the road and back. It was a combination of hysterical screaming and laughter the entire round trip.

My wife is a crazy person. Im sure all my elderly neighbors were ready to call the cops.

Anyways, about a week ago I was looking at a few builds online that had typical style cafe seats, The bum stop was removable for riding two up. They were doing a great job w styling, I didnt even notice it at first. They were held on w leather and snaps.

I can not remember who the builder was...grrr.
