Mine and the wife trying hers out in the shop in the spring. She looks so impressed I'm taking the pic. :0 She'd be so pissed if she know I posted it. Ohhh and I bought her that new jacket that says speed queen on the back.

My daily is a zx14. 200hp...at then end of third gear im doing 250km and have 3 to go. It rips through the corners like a sports bike but can be ridden for hours with its upright riding position....When I get nostalgic I ride the old ones :)

Agreed that was her first complaint. I wanted them lower, cafe style. She wants them up and back. |:(

Hi all It will be getting a complete teardown and rebuild this winter but here she sits with a few coats of black, no clear yet. Cleaned up just enough so she isn't embarrassed riding it. Colin

I knew the battery was weak but seems to have responded well to a charge. Cranks very well and for a long time. Doesn't seem to go dead quickly. As for checking for spark. I usually just remove the plug, reinsert into the plug cap and hold agains the engine while cranking. I can't see any...

Hi all I just flooded the bike and am trouble shooting. If the plugs are wet, and I pull them to check for spark the usual way, wouldn't I still get spark? I don't seem to have any. Thanks in advance. Colin

Thanks again. Unfortunately I don't seem to have a lot of spark at the moment. Could be another issue.

Hi all The wifes bobber was running like crap so I figured the carbs were due. When taking apart I managed to to break one of the intake boots. They are very dry and brittle. I'm told they are discontinued and can't seem to find them anywhere. I'm also told they are different from the manual...

Sounds like work :). Replacing the caps sounds like the way to go. It's at the plug end where things are ripe. I'll give it a try. Thanks for the help. Colin

Hi all I noticed that the wires were getting a little ripe at the spark plug end. Can I remove the wires from the coil end or are they hard wired? I didn't want attempt to twist off or pull not knowing. The coil appears stock. Thanks in advance for the help. I have sucked a lot of usefull...

I can't beleive I forgot about this site....I just rattle canned the wifes cm400...and could have avoided so many little issues had I re-read. Thanks again for the fantastic information. Colin
