When I ride the bike I usually take it to work and that is 30 miles away and the speed is 55 mph the whole way.

Stock everything, but pistons, cam chain tensioner, cam chain, and tires. The tires are the Firestone ones from dime city. When I say stock i mean stock, I replaced what was bad with stock replacement exept the stuff I noted. It is a 1972 Cl350 with 1mm oversize pistons and 0.25 rings

What is plug chop? Intake is Kehin carbs, exhaust is the stock cl350 high exhaust. Would putting the gears in wrong be the problem?

I have. Several times. Do you use a timing light for doing your timing? Everything checks out great and then as soon as I get it on the road at around 40mph it shits the bed.

Correction. Iam not in third gear at 70mph. I can't get passed 65 mph in 5th gear

Yes Iam running stock wheels with the firestones. The motor has 0.25 over pistons new valves, K&N cam chain tensioner, and stock kehin carbs with stock exhaust. Cl350 exhaust. I replaced the cam chain and clutch disc's, but not the plates. The bike has 12400 miles on it and 4000 after the rebuild.
