    Old school speed rear sets

    I hate to sound like a noob, but how are those mounted to the frame? Is there a bracket welded on to the frame that they are bolted to? Please if its not to much of a hassle, can you post a pic of the frame minus the bracket the rear sets are mounted on? I'm working on a 79 CB650 and have read...

    My newly paintet tank

    Sweet paint job on the tank! Well done, but I question the shape of your seat cowl. Not trying to diss at all, but what was your reason for that shape? To me it doesn't flow. Just my $.02. Cheers

    ...and just in case anyone is wondering why that muffler is still on, its because the screws that hold it on are seized and I haven't bought a drill and tap set yet. LOL

    So next, the tear down. I've got it down to the frame, engine and front end. Electrical is out and thinking it safer to have it rewired (any help on this like who I should take it to would be appreciated) Changing all bearings, chain and sprockets, and possibly the axles as well. They don't seem...

    So, first bike, first build, much respect to you all because this seems to be getting to be just a bit more than I can handle but I am forging ahead! First; the bike. It's a 1979 CB650 that has only 7500+/- miles on it that was a one owner bike. It's in very decent shape, the seat is...

    NEW MEMBERS - Read this - I'm sorry, but c'mon people.

    Whew, I haven't read this entire thread, but what I have read makes me feel much more at ease about asking for some advice on here. First time owner and I bought a pretty decent, but still 34 year old bike that will need a lot of $hit replaced. I am no real mechanic, and will be buying tools as...

    Hey there from Chicago!

    Thanks Gregajo! I hope they do, Chicago could use another championship! And the van was a rental as this is my first bike, I didn't have any tie downs so I used some old rope I had laying around from when I tried to learn Shibari. My girl at the time liked the synthetic stuff better! ( ;v) }

    Hey there from Chicago!

    'Sup everyone! My name is Joe and I bought a 79 CB650 last October and have been slowly tearing it down ever since (busy schedule). I am ramping things up and getting her stripped so I can mock her up with the controls, then strip it again, have the frame powder coated, then put it all together...
