    Need to do some research on the best way to extend wiring... I'm thinking the soldering and heat shrink approach. I recall way back I used to use these nice little uninsulated butt splices with heat shrink. But they were crimp style.

    I suppose it depends on the depth of the gouges but isn't it possible to hone the cylinders and put a slightly larger set of rings in?

    Looks to me like the front is a different pipe too; due to the angle differences. Maybe they used the stock pipe, just did a cut and re-weld job on it to fit it up.

    I haven't completed it yet really. I put the tester in and gave it a few kicks and it wasn't looking good. I'm hoping to get the starter running for that. I'm not sure that kicking it over produces the same results as the starter would, although it should...
