Just finished a DIY phone holder. Most retail ones seemed either flimsy or crazy expensive. Simple solution was recessing 8 rare earth magnets (DX.COM) about the size of quarters and .5 inches thick in piece of Trex decking, wrapping it with aluminum and attaching with hose clamps. Then, cut...

When you tapped the threads with a 10mm x 1mm, was that a change to 10mm or was it always a 10mm tap? ( that needed the threads cleaned up)
I bought ( and returned ) taps that were 10mm X 1mm because they did not fit. There are a lot of different places making repro Benelli Mojave tanks and I don't believe there are any manufacturing standards. Perhaps the original tanks had the 10mm taps, but mine definitely was not. I never knew...
Funny you should ask..how difficult could it be to replace the !$@& pet cocks? At least on my tank ( yours might be different) the seller described the tap as "1/4 X 1/8"
So far I've tried
1/4 NPT
1/8 NPT
10mm X 1 mm
1/8 BSTP
None fit. It is a tapered thread, and 1/8 BSTP was close. So I plan...
I want to replace his crappy petcock that came with a Benelli Mojave knock off manufactured in India . It was described by the seller on eBay as "1/8 x 1/4 "
So far I have determined the thread is not any of the following:
1/4 NPT
1/8 NPT
10mm X 1mm
1/8 BSTP
THe thread is tapered from 8.9mm...
Got an aftermarket speedo from Dime city. The print on my Haynes pdf manual is too small on the wiring schematic to read the wire color codes. Anyone been there already?
I took the fenders off my old Virago but am considering shortening the front and painting it black. At least I think it looks good on some other bikes Ive seen and it may help stiffen my spindley front forks.
I guess I could make a template of the existing curve of the fenders front and...
Since I wasn't sure, I ordered a pair from the seller in India. The threads on the petcocks I received are about 60/100" in diameter. One leaked badly and when I eventually got a replacement, however, it was different threads again ( about 70/100" ) and did not fit. So I ordered a set of 10mm...
I got rid of my standard virago horn and want something out of sight. Just bought the horn to replace a broken one in my wrangler, and noticed it could fit ( somehow ) where my center stand used to be. Perhaps mounting it with several large pipe clamps.
Although I like the sound, the horn...
Got the seat mounted via the two tabs in the front ( works fine ) and screw holes in the rear. Screws go through the sub frame and up into the seat . It works, but I often need a flashlight to carefully line up the hex screws with the holes. There has got to be a better way. Most builders here...
