Re: "La Pastinaca" CB450 New photos! Cases back togethor Alright, I was going to post and appoligize if I came off the wrong way until I was called names. I re-read my own post and see where I coud have come off as being arguementative. It was never any of my intentions to start an...

"La Pastinaca" CB450 498cc Big Bore Engine Built By DWMS Racing!

Re: "La Pastinaca" CB450 New photos! 5mm racing valves conversion! I never claimed that unshrouding would unlock magical heaps of plentiful HP. Simply that it's and easy way to pick up a little. And yes I did pick up where he raised the ports in the heads thereby improving the short side...

"La Pastinaca" CB450 498cc Big Bore Engine Built By DWMS Racing!

Re: "La Pastinaca" CB450 New photos! 5mm racing valves conversion! Teazer I get what your saying about leaving the valve shrouded to help prevent cross flow during the overlap. However if you where to do serious work to a 450, and I understand he's not taking this one that far, You would...

72 CL450 - "CatcH-23" OH THE TIMES THEY ARE CHANGING...

I second that, This was headed in such a great direction. :'( The bobber is still cool don't get me wrong, but really wish you would of stuck cafe. I was really liking the mix of bob and caf elements you had going. I'm sure it will be great however you build it though.

"La Pastinaca" CB450 498cc Big Bore Engine Built By DWMS Racing!

Re: "La Pastinaca" CB450 New photos! 5mm racing valves conversion! Nice, I haven't looked alot into internal mod's for these motors. Do you have any links or resources you would mind sharing for parts and stuff? BTW looks like there's a ton of room for unshrouding to be had there. My hand...

    1978 Triumph Tiger 750 Build

I agree, I know your trying to keep with a Duc theme but that tail is just WAY to big for that bike. A smaller tail would make the bike look a ton better.

CL450 or 360? Starting the hunt for 1st build.

Well it's been a week of grabbing at short straws. I had a 450 nailed down for $200 with title! Was stuck at work and it was just outside of reach to go look at in an hour lunch. A half hour before I get off work the phone rings and it's the seller telling me he just got done selling it. So I...

    1955 BSA C11G

That repair on the gearbox looks scary. Certainly isn't going to hold enough to seat the gaskets and prevent leaks. You pretty much could have glued the bolt in the hole and accomplished the same cosmetic fix. Not trying to be negative but you might check with some local machine shops and see...

CL450 or 360? Starting the hunt for 1st build.

I agree the XS does seem to be a good candidate from what I have gathered. I decided to pass on this one though. Seemed to be as previously mentioned "Alot of jacked up stuff done". After some quick math it would not have been worth putting this one back to acceptable condition when others can...
